Weir downs Toronto

TORONTO – The Weir softball team rolled to a 9-1 vIctory over Toronto Thursday.

Abbey Pratt picked up the win, surrendering just one unearned run and two hits over five innings with Micah DiBacco throwing two scoreless to close out the game. Jillian Karavanic had a trio of singles and an RBI. Meikka Buffo had a triple and two RBIs.

Chelsea Anderson had a double and Emily Anderson added a single for Weir.

Weir hosts Steubenville Central today while Toronto welcomes David Anderson for a double dip on Saturday.

Dons nipped by Potters

EAST LIVERPOOL – The Madonna softball game lost 4-3 at East Liverpool Thursday. The Lady Dons tied the game at 3-3 in the top of the seventh, but the Potters were able to anwer with a run in bottom half of the inning to claim the one-run win.

Maddie Burchill hit a pair of singles for the Blue Dons. Annie Magnone, Emily Pietranton, Amanda Paul, Sara Alongi and Aubrey Platek each singled.

Madonna (2-3) hosts Bridgeport today.

Redskins top Oak Glen

NEW CUMBERLAND – The Indian Creek softball team pulled out a 10-8 extra-innings victory at Oak Glen Friday. The Redskins scored three runs in the top of the eight after the Golden Bears tied the game with a pair in the bottom of the seventh.

Paige Geanangel picked up her third win in the circle with an eight strike out performance. She added three singles and a double at the plate. Bethany Davis added a two-run triple.

Jordan Cunningham had a triple and two singles for the Golden Bears.

Indian Creek (3-0) hosts Big Red today and Oak Glen travels to Harrison Central.

ST. CLAIRSVILLE – The Harrison Central softball team defeated St. Clairsville 7-1 Thursday.

Drew Horn earned the win on the mound for the Huskies. Rashaen Mitchell had two doubles and a single with Kalub Mitchell adding a double and a single.

Harrison Central hosts Bellaire today.
