Blue Dons pencil a date at Magnolia

CAMERON – Junior Ross Comis scored 23 of Madonna’s 30 fourth-quarter points in a 72-68 victory at Cameron Saturday night in the West Virginia Class A Region One, Section One basketball tournament.

The victory hands the Blue Dons at 7 p..m. Tuesday date at state-ranked Magnolia.

Comis was 13 of 15 at the free throw line in the final eight minutes as Madonna (9-13) erased a 47-42 deficit entering the quarter.

He finished with a game-high 30 points. Tyler Ewusiak added 14 points.

The young Cameron squad, which was led by Mark Walker’s 22 points (he went over 1,000 points for his career) finished the season at 10-11.
