James H. Lanham Sr., 83, of Brilliant died Friday, August 22, 2014, at Lancia Villa Royale.
He was born July 13, 1931, in Romance, WV. He is the son of the late Hubert Lanham and Agnes Brown Lanham Rogers.
James is also preceded in death by two brothers, Bud and Butch Rogers; sisters, Leona Powell, Neall Palmer, and Foresty Rogers; stepmother, Gracie Lanham; stepfather, David Rogers; and Margaret Allen Lanham.
James was retired from the former Ohio Coal and Construction Company where he was a welder mechanic and served his country in the U.S. Army during the Korean War.
Surviving are his sons, James H. (Kerry) Lanham Jr. of Negley, OH, Jerry A. (Sue) Lanham of Wintersville, and John R. (Linda) Lanham of Columbiana, OH; daughters, Angela Lanham and Vicky (Robert) Lanham Hadsell both of Brilliant, and Goldina (Keith) Lanham Weekley of Spring Branch,TX; one brother, Thomas Rogers of Bridgeport; two sisters, Ruth Harrigan of Powhatan Point and Linda Lanham Chase of Ripley, WV; two grandchildren, Nikki Hadsell of Brilliant and Bobby Hadsell of Canton; one great-grandchild, Brendon Hadsell Stillion of Brilliant.
Calling hours are Monday 3-7 p.m. at the Mosti Funeral Home, Sunset Chapel, 4435 Sunset Blvd., Steubenville, where services will be held 10 a.m. Tuesday. Paul Strum will officiate and burial will follow at Ft. Steuben Burial Estates.
