CHESTER - Mountaineer Casino, Racetrack and Resort officials have announced that casino executive Jody Madigan has been appointed assistant general manager of the regional gaming facility.
Madigan brings more than 15 years of senior leadership experience in the gaming industry, with a specialization in finance. He was appointed to Mountaineer's assistant general manager position after serving as the chief financial officer at Maryland Live! Casino.
"Jody brings an extensive and impressive resume with him in his new position at Mountaineer. He has held key senior positions at gaming facilities across the U.S.," Chris Kern, general manager said. "We are pleased to have him join Mountaineer Casino and we look forward to his expertise adding strength to our management team."
His leadership capabilities include specialization in financial and casino resort operations. He has worked with some of the most recognizable names in the industry, including the $500 million Maryland Live! Casino. Madigan was the second employee hired at the new facility and was an integral part of developing and opening one of the largest and most successful commercial casinos in the nation, according to officials.
Prior to working at Maryland Live!, Madigan held financial and executive management positions at Casino Del Sol in Tucson, Ariz., and for Penn National at its Boomtown Casino Biloxi, Miss., property. Under his leadership, both properties experienced market share growth, EBITDA growth and an increased EBITDA margin, officials said.
While working at Boomtown in 2002, Madigan became a certified public accountant and is recognized by the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants.
Madigan attended the University of Southern Mississippi, where he earned his bachelor of science degree in accounting and then his master of science degree in management.
