Harvard Avenue work
to start Friday
STEUBENVILLE - The Harvard Avenue water line replacement project will start at 7 a.m. Friday with the saw cutting on Lovers Lane and Harvard Avenue where the new water line will be installed.
City Engineer Michael Dolak said Lovers Lane will be closed to through traffic from Fort Steuben Drive to Sunset Boulevard from 8 a.m. until 6 p.m. on Friday so the contractor can excavate and locate the existing water line for a water connection tie-in.
"Local access to properties on Lovers Lane from Harvard Avenue to Fort Steuben Drive will be maintained on Fort Steuben Drive. Motorists are advised to use John Scott Highway and Sinclair Avenue as the detour," said Dolak.
"We will post 'No Parking' signs on Harvard Avenue one day in advance. Vehicles left on the street will be towed and owners will be responsible for towing and storage fees. The patience and cooperation of all area residents are greatly appreciated during the water line replacement and hot mix paving. Anyone with questions can contact me at (740) 283-6000, extension 3303," said Dolak.
Shelly & Sands Inc. of Rayland has been hired to do the project.
