The Fraternal Order of Eagles 1276 of Toronto donated a check for $10,000 to the Trinity Tony Teramana Cancer Center’s T.E.A.R. Fund in Steubenville Thursday. Celebrating the contribution were, front, from left, Susan Miller, oncology patient advocate; Janet and Ron Holmes, active F.O.E. members; and back, Amy Rovira, practice manager; and Lynn Barbe, radiation oncology director. “It’s an honor to be part of an organization that can make contributions like this. When my wife was diagnosed, it hit close to home, so we’re happy to be able to help,” Ron Holmes said. The T.E.A.R. Fund provides for emergency patient needs such as gas cards, nutritional supplements, utility bills and medication for cancer patients. “Every dollar in the fund goes to patients. There is no overhead for Trinity. It gets patients what they need the most, when they need it the most,” Barbe said.
