EAST LIVERPOOL -No. 1 Power GM has partnered with the Ups of Downs, Tri-State Down Syndrome Support Group to sponsor a car for the hole-in-one prize as the organization gears up for its fourth-annual golf scramble to be held Saturday at Turkana Golf Course in East Liverpool.
Proceeds from the golf scramble will help to provide support and group activities for individuals with Down syndrome and their families.
The Ups of Downs is accepting players at a cost of $75 per person or $300 for a four-person team. Included in the registration fee are a round of golf with cart, coffee, doughnuts, lunch at the turn and a steak dinner following the golf outing.

The Ups of Downs also will have drawings and prizes available. There will be cash prizes for the first-, second- and third-place teams and prizes for closest to the pin, longest putt and longest drive.

The Ups of Downs also is holding a Down Syndrome Awareness Walk on Sept. 13 at Tomlinson Run State Park in New Manchester. Pre-registration forms are available by contacting Nikki D'Atri, president, at (330) 532-3684.
The support group began in November 2009 as a means for families who have loved ones with Down syndrome to find support and information regarding the genetic condition.
