If you were worried about the absence of what has been a June tradition at Quinn Memorial AME Church in Steubenville, fret no more.
Because of some schedule conflicts, the "Taste of Quinn" that features "some of the finest cuisine prepared by Quinn's lay members" is very much on the calendar this year.
And you're very much invited to attend.

It's just that instead of it being held in June, Taste of Quinn is a little later this summer - Aug. 2 to be exact from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. at the church, which is located at 515 North St., Steubenville.
The church's promotional flyers for this event sponsored by the Quinn AME Lay Organization beckon would-be patrons to "enjoy food that is blessed by God and served with love!"
Favorite recipes prepared by Quinn cooks and available for area residents to savor this variety of African-America soul cuisine will include fried chicken, pork roast, beef brisket, turkey and dressing, ham, ribs, collard greens, cabbage, corn bread, green beans, potato salad, candied yams, salads and desserts to include cakes, pies, flavored tarts and other favorite sweets.
Rolls, punch and coffee also are included.
Tickets are $15 and are available in advance from any lay member or by calling the church at (740) 282-3912. Tickets also will be available at the door, but as with most events, buying in advance is preferred and helpful on the planning end of things.
Proceeds from Taste of Quinn benefit church projects, according to committee members.
Chairing the fundraiser is lay organization President Patricia Fletcher, originator of the idea for Taste of Quinn, who has said in the past the event has been successful and has drawn a diversified crowd for a relaxing outing minus any program, speeches or awards - just good food, good friends and good fellowship.
Co-chair is Soundra Palmer, also heading decorations. Other committee members are Lisa Thomas and Dolores Young, tickets; Jacqueline Gibson, publicity; and committee members Marion Young, John Butler, Joyce Jones, Eloise Curenton, Lisa Mason, Marge Monico, Glenn Thompson, Gloria Howard, Mary Collins, Gloria Crossland, Robin Mickens, Walter Morgan, Ilana Chester, Mattie Patterson, Sylvia Thompson, Lawrence Fletcher, Darlene Thompson and Genevieve Murray.
The church's pastor is the Rev. Raymond Mickens.
