Hoppel's Rodeo will be held in Lisbon (West Point) on Friday and Saturday with performances at 7:30 p.m. both days.
Friday is "Veteran's Night" where all veterans will be admitted free with proper identification. F&V Fireworks will "light up the sky" on Friday, and a disc jockey will provide music afterwards.
"Every year we honor our veterans who gave of their time unselfishly," an event spokesperson said. "The rodeo committee and the community appreciate their dedication and loyalty to our country and would like to honor them. Our heartfelt thanks go out to them and their families."
Advanced tickets are $10 each for both adults and children. Tickets at the gate are $15 for adults and $10 for children. Children under age 3 are admitted free.
Hoppel's Arena is located at 40891 state Route 518, Lisbon. Attendees should bring blankets or chairs for on-lawn seating.
More than 200 contestants are entered in the two-day event, organizers said.
The July 4 holiday is known as "Cowboy Christmas" as contestants will travel to many states to enter several rodeos in order to collect points for the year-end finals rodeo. The rodeo will include clowns, rodeo performances, food and vendors in a setting that overlooks Beaver Creek.
Proceeds will benefit Rising Hope Equine Center, LLC, a nonprofit organization dedicated to helping special needs individuals obtain their goals by providing physical, occupational, emotional and speech therapies while on horseback.
