Cadiz Women's Golf Association held its annual Invitational Tournament on June 25.
Chairman Marlene Holloway welcomed the many guests, including Karen Sims from the Myrtle Beach area as the farthest traveler. A two-person scramble was planned, but because of the inclement weather, several groups did not finish 18 holes, and prizes were awarded on nine-hole totals.
After lunch, committee Chairmen Nep Rowland and Joann Watson announced the following winners: First flight, first place, Cindy Montgomery and Teri Barkley; second place, Billie Stanwick and Millie Romshak; and third place, Marilyn Kenny and Diana Adams.
Second flight winners were: first place, Debbie Phillippi and Patty Filak; second place, Dru Fleishour and Mary DiMichele; and third place, Rene Morelli and Cheryl Black.
Third flight winners were: first place, Vivian Tustin and Joann Watson; second place, Linda Caputo and Denise Augustine; and third place, Eleanor Kindsvatter and Ann Eroshevich.
Pro Shop Manager Jim Rocchi aided with the scorecards.
The 50/50 dawing was won by Joann Watson. All guests were given a door prize of two free rounds of golf at the Cadiz Country Club.
Cadiz Women's Golfers played a game of scoring on odd holes with one half handicap on June 18.
Joann Watson was hostess and announced the winners of first place, Nep Rowland, and second place, Peg Buchanan. The putt pot was split between Rowland and Betty Thompson.

18-HOLE GOLF LEAGUE
The game for June 5 was a low gross, low net event. Taking first place in the low gross event was Mary Ann Bainbridge, with Elaine Minda placing second.
Patty Filak took first place in the low net event, with Janice Torrance in second place.
Longest putt on hole No. 14 was won by Bainbridge, and Minda won closest to the pin on hole No. 5. No one won closest to the pin on hole No. 5 so there will be a carryover.
SPRING HILLS LADIES GOLF
Spring Hills Ladies Golf League played Soothsayer on June 19 with members attempting to predict their score on the back nine of Spring Hills.
Winners in A flight drew a tie between Lori Szymanck, whose guess was 44 and shot a 45, and Neysa McCart, who guessed 49 and shot a 50. B flight winner was Kathi Moore, who guessed 49 and shot 51. C flight winner was Judy Sorrenti with a guess of 55. She shot a 53.
Long drive, A flight was Lori Szymanek; B flight, Erin Mader; and C flight, Peggy Ramsey. Closest to pin, A flight, Claudia Norris; B flight, Judy Galbraith; and no one in C flight.
The 50/50 winner was Carmella Wallace.
For score, A flight with the low score for night was Mary DiMichele with a 44; B flight, Kathi Moore shot a 49; and C flight, low score, was Pat Carey with a 52.
Low putts for the night was Tammy Cox who had only 13 putts for the night.
Officers and the invitational committee will meet soon to put the final touches on the invitational to be held at Spring Hills on Aug. 7. The cost is $55 per person, which includes cart, green fee, continental breakfast, food at the turn and lunch afterwards and many door prizes. The theme is "I Love Sports." Contact any member or the clubhouse for an entry form.
The Spring Hills Ladies Golf League played low net on June 12.
The winners were: A flight, Lori Szymanek; B flight, Erin Mader; and C flight, Brenda McCloskey. Long drive in A, Claudia Norris; B, Judy Galbraith; and C, Brenda McCloskey. Closest to the pin in A, Mary DiMichele; B, Vickie Grant; and C, Brenda McCloskey. Erin Mader had a chip-in, and Linda Caputo had two chip-ins. Brenda McCloskey won the 50/50.
For two consecutive weeks, the Steubenville Country Club Women's Golf Association played a gross, net and putts game in flights and continued play in the President's Cup Tournament.
Winners on June 18 were: First flight: Marilyn Kenny, low gross and putts; YangJa Koh, low net; Second flight: Dianna Adams, low gross and putts, Charlene Freshwater, low net and putts. Nine-hole winners were Dotty Tegano, low gross and putts, and Shannon Irvin, low net.
The June 25 winners were: First flight, Koh, low gross, Kim Criss, low net and putts; Second flight: Freshwater, low gross and putts, Theresa Metcalf, low net and putts. Freshwater chipped in on hole No. 13 to claim the bountiful Money Cup which had carried over for four weeks.
The President's Cup is a highly regarded tournament which runs for four weeks with the winner being the golfer with the best three of four net scores. Adams and Metcalf chaired the event. The winner will be announced this week and will be honored at the September closing day awards luncheon.
This week's event will be a flag tournament with Koh and Freshwater as hostesses. Golfers are asked to dress in patriotic colors. Eighteen-hole golfers will report to the pro shop at 8:30 a.m. for a 9 a.m. tee-off. Nine-hole golfers will tee off at 9:30 a.m.
Williams Ladies Golf Association held a low gross and low net event with Maribeth Arlia taking first flight low gross with a score of 91. Jenny Epifano took first flight low net with a 72.
Second flight low gross ended in a tie with Jerry Chambers and Kay Mascio at a 114, Vi Stein took low net with a score of 82.
Skill prize for the day was closest to the pin in two shots on hole No. 6 of the field, which was taken by Mascio.
The association used the game of Six-Six-Six with alternating games on each six holes figured and announced by Assistant Pro Jason Smoljanovich.
First-place low net team consisted of Maribeth Arlia, Erikka Buracchio and Phyllis Phillips. Second-pace low net team went to Priscilla Mavrich, Vi Stein and Alicia Myers.
Skill prize for the field was "most fairways with your drive," which was taken by Rita Wickham and Stein, who were tied.
A special thank-you gift was presented to President Linda Staffilino for overseeing the club renovations..
This week will be "Beat the Pro" and the following week, July 8, with be the Williams Spectacular Ladies Invitational for all clubs invited throughout the Tri-State Area.
