Book and video sale to be held
Organizers of Kim's Walk will hold a book and video sale from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Saturday at St. Thomas Episcopal Church, 300 Three Springs Drive, Weirton.
Kim's Walk is a nonprofit group that raises money for local residents with neurological diseases. It was initiated by Kim Chapline-Byers of Wellsburg, who has multiple sclerosis.
There also will be a baked goods sale and drawings for gift baskets at the sale.
Kim's Walk will be held Nov. 2 at Brooke High School.
Breakfast at E.S. Center canceled
A fundraiser pancake breakfast and brunch that had been scheduled to be held Saturday at the East Springfield Community Center has been canceled, according to a center spokesperson.
Wellsburg Elks to hold 1950s dance
The Wellsburg Elks Lodge at 834 Charles St., Wellsburg, will hold a 1950s hop, to be attended by West Virginia Elks President Darry Harris and his wife, Tammy, June 21.
The Buffington Brothers will be performing from 8:30 p.m. to 11:30 p.m., and everyone is invited to dress in 1950s style attire. The cost is $17.50 per person, which includes light refreshments and drink.

Crocheting group to meet Wednesday
The Brooke County Public Library's Crocheting Group will meet at 5 p.m. Wednesday. The group is for adult beginners through experts.
Participants should bring their own supplies and projects. Assistance will be available to those who need it.

Retirees of TIMET in Toronto will have occasion to chat, reminisce and stay connected at the next get-together luncheon scheduled for Tuesday at 11:30 a.m. at CJ's Restaurant on Sunset Boulevard, Steubenville.

Golf scramble to benefit foundation
The third-annual Children's Bereavement Foundation four-man golf scramble will be held June 21 at the Spring Hills Golf Course in East Springfield.
The fundraiser will include a $10,000 hole-in-one cash prize sponsored by Prestige Video Productions. The fee is $60 per person and includes lunch on the turn and a steak dinner. There also will be door prizes and a 50-50 drawing.

The Wintersville-based Children's Bereavement Foundation helps with the final expenses for 20-week pre-term to 24 months. The money does not go to the family directly but to the funeral home, cemetery, etc., according to a news release.

Outreach program offers line dancing
The Lupus Outreach Program will offer line dancing from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. Monday at the Martin Luther King Jr. Recreation Center, 905 Market St., Steubenville.
Trina Lawson will be the instructor.
It is sponsored by Urban Mission Ministries/Neighborhood Community Development Center and funded by the Ohio Commission on Minority Health.
Special music at Second Baptist
The men of Second Baptist Church, 717 Adams St., Steubenville, invite the public to a "pre-Father's Day program" on Saturday beginning at 4 p.m. in the church's fellowship hall.
The program will feature Austin Shaw and male chorus in concert from the Community Church of God in Christ in Warren.
The guest group will be the Mount Zion Baptist Church Male Choir of Steubenville.

Brooke GOP to hold Lincoln Day dinner
The Brooke County Republican Executive Committee will hold its annual Lincoln Day dinner at 2 p.m. on June 28 at the Rhododendron Shelter of Brooke Hills Park, Wellsburg.
The cost is $20 per person. There is no charge for children under age 12.
