June 12, 2014
Herald-Star

Participants in the 2014 Summer Youth Program at the Historic Fort Steuben learned how to play music with spoons and a mountain dulcimer Wednesday from Rich and Kathy Small of Canton. The Smalls demonstrated early American musical instruments and gave the children simple lessons. Rich Small laughed while showing the different mountain dulcimers to the children. The program will continue through Friday and will resume July 7-11 from 10 a.m. until 2:30 p.m. The cost for the educational program is $40 for the week. Information about the summer youth program is available by calling (740) 283-1787 or e-mailing info@oldfortsteuben.com. -- Dave Gossett
