STEUBENVILLE - Two vehicles were hit by gunfire in the 1300 block of Jefferson Street around 2 a.m. today, City Police reported.
The police department reported receiving calls about 10-15 shots fired.
Officers found shell casings and two vehicles damaged by the gunfire.
A detective was called to the scene for further investigation.

WHEELING -Two Follansbee men have been charged with the illegal possession of firearms, according to U.S. Attorney William J. Ihlenfeld II.
Ian K. Saunders, 34, and Mark Campbell, 22, each were indicted by a federal grand jury on one count of unlawful drug user and addict in possession of a firearm and one count of possession of a stolen firearm.
The indictment alleges that both men are addicted to heroin and came into possession of the stolen firearms in January, Ihlenfeld said.
Each count carries a penalty of up to 10 years in prison.
This case is being investigated by officers and agents from the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco and Firearms, Brooke County Sheriff's Department and Weirton Police Department.
JFK Highway to
be closed in section
TORONTO - JFK Highway (county Road 47) will be closed in a section on Wednesday, the Jefferson County Engineer's Department reported.
The road will be closed from 7 a.m. until 11 a.m. between Brandywine Road (Knox Township Road 244) and Warren Ridge Road (Knox Township Road 246) for a culvert replacement. There will be no through traffic.

MINGO JUNCTION - The village water department will flush hydrants through the village Thursday and Friday nights.
The water department is flushing the hydrants because of complaints of discoloration.
Residents may experience discoloration after the flushing for a period.
Lou Del Bianco
coming to Wintersville
WINTERSVILLE - The Italian-American Cultural Club will present Lou Del Bianco, an artist, writer and inspirational speaker, at 7:30 p.m. June 17 at St. Florian Hall.
Del Bianco will perform "In the Shadow of the Mountain." Using historical photographs and information, he relives the creation of Mount Rushmore National Monument.
These experiences were learned from his grandfather, Luigi Del Bianco, and Italian immigrant and chief stone carver on the Mount Rushmore project. Del Bianco has won numerous awards for his writing and speaking.
This event is open to the public.
Admission is free as well. However, donations will be accepted at the door.

DILLONVALE - The June meeting of the Buckeye Local Board of Education has been rescheduled for 7 p.m. on June 26.
The meeting will be held in the board's administrative office at 6899 state Route 150.
Chester Hall of Fame
CHESTER - Officials with the Chester Hall of Fame are accepting nominations for the next round of inductions in 2015. The Hall of Fame takes nominations year-round.
Candidates for induction should be past or present Chester area residents who have had a significant, positive influence on the history and development of the city. They may have distinguished themselves in fields such as agriculture, business, education, athletics, philanthropy or any other appropriate area.
