Country Friend Dance Band set to perform Saturday
The Country Friends Dance Band will entertain Saturday at Memorial Hall located at 67 Old Police Lodge Road, Colliers.
The doors open at 6 p.m., and the dance begins at 7 p.m.
Mondays and Fridays are covered-dish dinners and jam nights. The doors open at 4 p.m., the meal begins at 5 p.m., and open mic begins at 6 p.m.
The last Friday of each month is gospel night, and a donation is made to a local church or charity.
Country Friends Foundation Inc. is a nonprofit organization dedicated to promoting Christian friendship and brotherly love through music.
All proceeds go to charity.

4-H Camp to be held
July 22-26 at Tomlinson
The Hancock County 4-H Camp will be held July 22-26 at Tomlinson Run State Park, New Manchester.
The theme is "Lights, Camera, 4-H!" and celebrates 4-H through the years. Different types of movies will be featured.
The camp is open to youth aged 9 to 21. Space is limited to 80 campers.

Knights of Columbus
Auxiliary holds meeting
The Knights of Columbus Auxiliary met June 3 at the knights' facility in Weirton.
President Delores Bengier led the group in prayer.
Reports were given by Secretary Mary Longhi and Treasurer Sondra Pennacchio. Members discussed future projects.
Kay Doboski held the 50/50 drawing, which was won by Kay Jonczak.
The next meeting will be held at 1 p.m. on July 1.
Mingo Senior Center
arranging two trips
The Mingo Senior Center is arranging two upcoming trips, including one to Amish country on June 16 and the other to the Hartville Flea Market on July 21.
Each trip in a van has a 10-person limit. The cost will be $20 to either. Inquiries can be directed to the center located at 663 Commercial St., Mingo Junction, by calling (740) 535-1639.
The summer picnic is scheduled for July 24 at Mingo's Aracoma Park, beginning at 5:30 p.m. There will be a luau theme. The cost is $10 per person for the event that will include food, entertainment and prizes.
Edison Class of 2004 planning
The Edison High School Class of 2004 will hold a 10-year reunion on July 12 at the Knoxville Grange, beginning at 5 p.m.
Food will be provided, and it is BYOB. The reunion is for adults only. The cost is $25 per person and $50 for a couple. The deadline to RSVP is June 30.

Summer concert series under way in Tiltonsville
The Warren Township Park Gazebo summer concerts are continuing on Thursdays beginning at 7 p.m. at the park in Tiltonsville.

Veterans for Veterans
to hold fund drive Saturday
Veterans for Veterans will hold their annual fund drive on Saturday at Wal-Mart's on Three Springs Drive, Weirton.
All monies donated will benefit local veterans' day-to-day use and comforts, according to Mike Mullen, chairman.
Veterans for Veterans meet every third Monday at the Brooke County Senior Center in Follansbee.
Drawing Academy in July
The West Virginia University Extension Service and WVU College of Creative Arts will hold its first Mountaineer Summer Drawing Academy, for youth ages 14 to 17, at the university, July 20-26.
The cost of the camp is $400, but a $175 scholarship is available for those who meet the pre-registration postmark deadline of Friday.
Campers will participate in workshops designed to hone their artistic skills. There will guest speakers and field trips with landscapes and natural settings intended to inspire artistic exploration.
In addition to the registration form, each applicant must submit a letter of recommendation from an art teacher or county Extension agent and portfolio with eight to 12 of their best works from the past three years. They can be any form of media, including painting, sculpture, ceramics, photographs or sketches.
The art won't be returned.
