To the editor:
The official name of the new Georgia gun law is the Safe Carry Protection Act. Critics have found "the guns everywhere bill" to be a more appropriate title. Gun owners with permits will be able to choose to carry their weaponry into government buildings, schools, bars, the Atlanta airport and even churches.
The bill will be effective on July 1. The National Rifle Association considers it a victory for the 2nd Amendment, while opponents consider it the most extreme gun bill ever proposed in our country.
Churches, as places of worship, would appear to be unacceptable sites for concealed carry. Apparently not, if you worship at the altar of guns.
