BEECH BOTTOM - Beech Bottom voters will be asked to choose from candidates for mayor, village recorder and council members in the village's June 10 election.
Polls will be open from 6:30 a.m. to 7 p.m. that day.
Registered voters may cast ballots during early voting, which will be held from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. Monday through Friday beginning May 28 and from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. May 31 and June 7 at the Village Building.
Vying for mayor are incumbent George Lewis and Becky Uhlly, currently a council member. Seeking the recorder's position are incumbent Linda Dowell and challenger Amy Gibson.
Running for the village's five at-large council seats are incumbent Linda Clelland, challengers Sharon Kay Jordan, Melissa Galene Smith Kemp, Judy Lewis and Debbie Murdock; incumbent Robert Sadler, challenger Theresa Ann Shafer, incumbent Greg Sheperd and incumbent Ted Westfall.
Clelland, Jordan, Kemp and Shafer are official write-in candidates, meaning their names won't appear on ballots and must be entered by voters.

Chamber to hold
after hours event
WELLSBURG - A Wellsburg Chamber of Commerce business after hours will be held at 5:30 p.m. May 29 at Legends restaurant on Charles Street.
Eagle Manufacturing and Energy Speaks will host the event.
RICHMOND - Village Council will meet at 7 p.m. on June 9 at the City Building, according to officials.
The meeting was moved from June 2 due to an anticipated lack of quorum.

WINTERSVILLE - The Brooke County Animal Welfare League will host a Roaming Animal Sterilization Clinic at Low Cost June 7 and 8 at the Jefferson County Airpark.
