Kathleen Rose Swearingen, 93, of Toronto, OH passed away Friday, May 16, 2014 at the Trinity Medical Center, West, Steubenville, OH.
She was born January 30, 1921 in Toronto the daughter of the late Athol and Nora (Finney) Stewart.
Kathleen was a member of the St. Francis of Assisi Roman Catholic Church of Toronto; was a 1940 graduate of Toronto High School; had been formerly employed at the former Steubenville Pottery Company. Kathleen loved to sew.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Edmond Charles Swearingen who passed away April 26, 1994 and whom she married July 24, 1945; daughter, Karen Ann Sapp who passed away August 15, 1989; brothers, Harry Jack, Robert Leo and Patrick Stewart.
Kathleen is survived by her sons, Harry James Swearingen and wife Patricia of Columbus, OH and Ronald E. Swearingen and wife Judy of Kent, OH; grandchildren, James, Timothy, Kevin and Carly Swearingen; great-grandchildren, Alyson, Austin and Andrew Swearingen.
Visitation hours for Kathleen will be held 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. Tuesday, May 20th at the Clarke Funeral Home, 302 Main St., Toronto, OH 740-537-1234 or 1-800-855-1240.
Additional visitation will be held from 9-10 a.m. Wednesday at the St. Francis Roman Catholic Church, corner of Findley St. and Euclid Avenue, Toronto. A vigil service will be held at the funeral home at 3:45 a.m. Tuesday.
A Funeral Liturgy with Mass will be held 10 a.m.. Wednesday May 21 at St. Francis Roman Catholic Church with officiant the Reverend Father Thomas Vennitti. Burial will follow at the Toronto Union Cemetery.
