The Toronto Senior Citizens met at the Stratton Hall for its anniversary dinner on May 8.
Guests were Mayor John Geddis and wife Kitten; Don and Cheryl Clarke; and Jeff Foster.
The blessing was given by Mary Alice Meyer for the catered dinner by Brickers. Entertainment was provided by Rich Granatir.
The 50/50 was won by Irene Miller.

The Sons of American Legion are sponsoring a fundraiser spaghetti dinner from 1 p.m. to 6 p.m. on Sunday to benefit the American Legion Post 10 in Weirton and local veterans.
It will be held at the Legion hall located at 3140 Pennsylvania Ave., Weirton.
The menu includes spaghetti, meatball, salad, bread and desserts. The cost is $8 for adults and $5 for children ages 7-12.

Charity Hospice is gearing up for its annual spaghetti dinner fundraiser.
It will be held from 1 p.m. to 5 p.m. on Sunday at Triumph of the Cross Auditorium (Holy Rosary.)
The event will include a Chinese auction and a 50/50 drawing.
New support group formed in Weirton
A domestic violence survivor support group has been formed by C.H.A.N.G.E. Inc.'s Domestic Violence Awareness Center at 3058 West St., Weirton.
The group, which meets at 6 p.m. on Tuesdays, is aimed at helping survivors to understand domestic violence and find ways out of violent situations through the sharing of personal experiences and information.
Upcoming meetings will cover the following topics: "How Domestic Violence Affects Children," Tuesday; "Safety Planning/Helping a Friend," May 20; and "Survivor Community Resources," May 27.

'Walter Mitty' film
The Brooke County Public Library in Wellsburg will be showing the PG-13-rated film, "The Secret Life of Walter Mitty," at 1 p.m. Thursday.
Starring Ben Stiller, the film was inspired by a short story by James Thurber.

Blood drive set
The Wellsburg Women of the Moose will host an American Red Cross blood drive from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday at the Moose Lodge at 844 Main St., Wellsburg.
There will be free doughnuts for those who give blood in the morning and a hot lunch for donors in the afternoon. Donors should bring photo IDs.

The Wellsburg Elks Lodge at 834 Charles St., Wellsburg, will hold a dance from 8:30 p.m. to 11:30 p.m. Saturday.
