During a recent meeting held at the East Springfield Community Center, the Purple Circle 4-H Club reported on the fundraiser spaghetti dinner chaired by Cliff Wood.
It included a silent auction and the sale of club T-shirts.
The next meeting will be held at the Richmond United Methodist Church.
Liberty Gals and Guys
The Liberty Gals and Guys 4-H Club members heard a report on the right foods to eat for a healthy lifestyle. A demonstration was given on threading a needle, and the club made Easter baskets for shut-ins in the area.
Jarrett Roach presided at the meeting attended by six members. A report was given on the club's participation in the Iron Chef Clinic.
Future plans include making gift card baskets, with a theme of swimming and summer.
The next meeting will be held at the George's Run United Methodist Church.
David Kinney presided at the Bits-N-Pieces 4-H Club meeting held at the Unionport Community Center with 17 members present.
Kinney demonstrated how to wash a pig. Evan Longo conducted a game of tag for the activity.
Future plans include attending the Quality Assurance to be held May 19. Money was collected for the 4-H Jamboree and spaghetti dinner set for today.
The next meeting will be at the Richmond Park at 2 p.m. May 18. Members are continuing to collect pop tabs.
Cross Creek Tomahawks
The Cross Creek Tomahawks 4-H Club members discussed project book activities during a meeting held at Bella Hall in Steubenville. Tyler McAfee presided.
A weigh-in was held for pop tabs. Members brought in canned goods. Information was reviewed about tag-in day.
The club is looking for a guest speaker for the May meeting at Bell Chapel UMC.
Members were to assist the Special Olympics program at the Harding field.
The club will donate a gift basket for Extension's 100th anniversary celebration.
The next meeting is at 4:30 p.m. Wednesday at Bella Hall.
The Lucky Leaf 4-H Club members recently approved making a donation to the small animal cause during the meeting held at the Bantam Ridge School. Barb Mazzaferro and Taylor Mazzaferro conducted the session.
Demonstrations were given by Kaycie Vanderborne, how to play a trumpet; Brianna Meadows and Kaylee Moran, shot put and disc; and Sarah Mazzaferro and Mayayla Petrisko, cheering.
A discussion was held on 4-H camps, skillathon, jamboree, contest day and junior fair board. Future plans include planting flowers at the Jefferson County Fairgrounds on May 18 for the flower bed planting contest sponsored by the fair board board of directors.
