“Hope & Healing” was the theme of the Jefferson County Fourth Street Health Center’s eighth-annual gala held Sunday at St. Florian Hall in Wintersville where the campaign goal was to raise $140,000 while honoring those who have aided in the center’s mission to provide medical care to the county’s uninsured and underserved. Honorees included Trinity Health System, humanitarian award; Dr. John Hyland, medical honoree award; Bea Antol, volunteer honoree; and the Peoples National Bank of Mount Pleasant, community honoree. The gala featured a live auction, the sale of 600 mystery gifts and the honoring of the Young Ambassadors, with the top three fundraisers acknowledged as Jocelyn Wolpert, $1,000 scholarship recipient, and Miranda Parkinson and Chelsea Jenkins, each receiving a $500 scholarship. On hand for the presentations were, front, from left, Antol; Ann Quillen, the health center’s executive director; center director Suzanne Brown, gala co-chair; and bank representatives Gail Fisher, senior vice president, and Betty Campbell, president: and, back, Jody Glaub, master of ceremonies; Fred Brower, Trinity Health System chief executive officer; Dr. Tom Brown, gala co-chair; and Hyland.
