The steering committee's planning for the annual "Spring Into Spring" event, sponsored by the Franciscan University Women's Scholarship Guild, is in full swing.
In addition to organizing the event, members are hosting a membership drive to help garner support for their cause. The Franciscan Women's Scholarship Guild proceeds fund the Rose M. DeFede Scholarship.
"It is a scholarship designed to assist women over the age of 22 who are in need of completing a degree so that they may obtain employment or receive advancement in their current place of employment," said Anita Jackson, director of community relations at Franciscan University of Steubenville and the group coordinator.
