Mayor’s Award presented

April 22, 2014
The Herald-Star
Weirton Mayor George Kondik, left, and Ward 7 Councilman and Weirton Area Board of Parks and Recreation Executive Director Terry Weigel, right, presented Weir High Student Brandon S. Toland with a Mayor’s Award for his achievement in becoming an Eagle Scout, the highest rank attainable in the Boy Scouts of America. Toland placed plastic trail markers and assigned GPS coordinates to five hiking trails at Tomlinson State Park. He has been earning merit badges since the second grade and plans to attend Pittsburgh Technical Institute in the future. Toland said his grandfather, also an Eagle Scout, was a great inspiration to him.
