Ambassadors visit

April 17, 2014
The Herald-Star
Lade Majic, center, coach of the Harlem Ambassadors, enjoyed a moment with area children before Wednesday’s charity basketball game at Steubenville High School’s Crimson Center. The Ambassadors brought their comedy basketball show to town to take on the Steel Valley Tankers, a team made up of local coaches, politicians and celebrities. Proceeds from the event will benefit educational programs at Historic Fort Steuben. Children in attendance had an opportunity to take part in the presentation and were asked to take a simple pledge by the Ambassadors — “Drug free, college degree.” Sponsors included Steel Valley Tank and Welding; Historic Fort Steuben; Mountaineer Casino, Racetrack and Resort; Best Western; Nelson Fine Arts and Gifts; Steubenville City Schools; the Herald-Star; and WTOV-TV. - Matthew Peaslee
