CADIZ - Harrison Community Hospital officials honored volunteers during a breakfast held Tuesday.
Pat Heavlin, volunteer coordinator, thanked the volunteers for their dedication and work.
Hospital Chief Executive Officer Cliff Harmon also thanked the volunteers and auxiliary members, saying, "You could donate your time anywhere and you donate it here. For that we are very grateful."

RETIRING VOLUNTEER — Virginia Patton, left, Harrison Community Hospital retiring volunteer, was honored for her years of service, by Patricia Heavlin, hospital volunteer coordinator.
Harmon praised auxiliary members for their efforts in providing new blinds in patient rooms during the past year and volunteers' commitment to raise $25,000 over the next three years to assist the hospital in acquiring new digital mammography equipment.
Special recognition was given to Virginia Patton of Jewett, who "retired" as a volunteer after years of service. Patton was one of the original volunteers from the early days of the hospital going back to the 1970s, officials said.
Last year volunteers donated 3,488 hours of their time to Harrison Community Hospital, officials said.
Volunteers receiving special recognition at the breakfast included Michelle Meyer, who volunteered 100 hours of service; Jodi Pileggi and Bettie Scott, 1,000 hours each; Martha Betts, 3,000 hours; and Erma Stoica, 4,000 hours.
Plans for upcoming auxiliary fundraisers were shared. They include a purse sale on April 17 and a bake sale on April 18.
