"Lives Change at Your Library" is the theme of National Library Week being celebrated through Saturday by the Public Library of Steubenville and Jefferson County.
In light of that, patrons can drop by any library branch to enter their name for a prize drawing.
Special programming will include Mark Twain impersonator Stephen Hollen entertaining the family with stories about this author and humorist known for his writing of "The Adventures of Tom Sawyer" and "The Adventures of Huckleberry Finn."
LIBRARY LOVER — As many people have come to appreciate, the library system is a place where knowledge empowers its patrons with a variety of information on a variety of topics, and that includes Irene Moore, district administrator of the Jefferson Soil and Water Conservation District. The library can offer information, for example, on ways to protect the environment. The theme of National Library Week under way through Saturday is “Lives Change at Your Library.”
Hollen will be on hand for this at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday at Eastern Gateway Community College's lecture hall, room 2102.
"With a twinkle in his eye, white suit, quick wit and that wild hair, you'll think Mark Twain himself stepped into the room," said Jennifer Cesta, the library system's public relations coordinator.
"Register now for this hilarious performance the family will enjoy," Cesta said. Call the Schiappa branch at (740) 264-6166 to register.
