Crews from the Weirton police and fire departments responded to a two-vehicle accident on Cove Hill in front of Nick's Towing Friday afternoon. One man was airlifted in serious condition, and another man and woman were taken by ambulance to Weirton Medical Center, according to officials at the scene. Names were not released. The preliminary investigation indicated the driver of the red truck was headed uphill at a 'very high rate of speed' when he lost control and made contact with the black vehicle travelling downhill, according to Lt. Rob Williams of the Weirton Police Department. — Shae Dalrymple
