The Herald-Star
A van driven by Danielle Mitchell, 27, of 708 Woodlawn Road crashed into a utility pole outside Sunset Motors on Sunset Boulevard around 11:12 a.m. Thursday. Mitchell had to be extricated from the van by city firefighters. She was taken to Harding Stadium, where a medical helicopter landed to transport her to a Pittsburgh hospital. City Police reported Mitchell was involved in another accident about 30 minutes earlier at the intersection of Sunset Boulevard and Richland Street, but she refused medical treatment. Thirteen vehicles were damaged at Sunset Motors when the battery from the van flew out and struck vehicles, causing battery acid damage. “She hit the pole so hard it shook the building,” said Steve Lucas, Sunset Motors sales manager. — Shae Dalrymple
