Methodist Men to
The Methodist Men at Wintersville United Methodist Church, located at 702 Main St., Wintersville, will host a spaghetti dinner from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m. on Saturday.
Cost is by donation.
The Methodist Men contribute to many ministries in the community, including Urban Mission Ministries, Wintersville Good Neighbors and helping with costs for youth attending church camp.
Country Friends Dance
Band to perform Saturday
Country Friends Dance Band will entertain Saturday at the Memorial Hall located at 67 Old Police Lodge Road, Colliers.
The band plays once a month exclusively for Country Friends. Doors open at 6 p.m. on Saturdays, and the dance starts at 7 p.m.
Mondays and Fridays are jam nights with the last Friday of the month being Gospel Night when a church walk is conducted with donations earmarked for a church or charity. Doors open at 4 p.m., and open mic begins at 6 p.m. Participants are welcome to bring a covered dish for the meal that begins at 5 p.m.
Country Friends Foundation Inc. is a nonprofit organization dedicated to promoting Christian friendship and brotherly love through music. All proceeds go to charity. set to meet Tuesday
The Steubenville High School Alumni Association will hold its monthly meeting at 6 p.m. Tuesday at Scaffidi's Restaurant and Tavern.

Mass Tuesday at St. Agnes
The Knights of Columbus Day of the Unborn Child Feast of the Annunciation Mass will be celebrated at 6 p.m. Tuesday at St. Agnes Church in Mingo.
It is sponsored by the Mingo Knights of Columbus Council 4361.
Moving On back after
two-month winter break
After a January and February winter break, members of the Moving On widow and widowers club gathered for their business and dinner meeting on March 9 at Undo's in Weirton with President Norma Boni presiding.
After dinner, members were entertained by Chuck Lucas. Christine Brown gave a reading titled "Words to Inspire the Soul."
Jack Davis gave the dinner and closing prayer.
Birthdays were acknowledged with each celebrant receiving a cupcake.
Reports were given by Toots Ross and Margaret Chapman.
Martha Wright won the 50-50 drawing.
Undo's gift certificates were won by Norma Boni and Richard Kimmel. Other prize winners were Nancy Sollinger, Carolyn Hill and Marge Serafini.
Table prize winners were Dorothy Alrutz, Marcia Bishop, Jack Davis, Herbert Simms, Margaret Ashbee and Deloris Proakis.

Historical association offers details for scholarship
The Jefferson County Historical Association is accepting essay applications through April 1 for a new $200 scholarship available to seniors from four participating school districts: Edison Local, Buckeye Local, Indian Creek and Steubenville high schools.
For consideration, the essay must be an historical essay relating to Jefferson County and be about a site, person or event occurring more than 50 years ago.
The essay should be no longer than 500 words and no less than 300.
The essays will be reviewed by the Tri-State Writers Society members to select the top three submitted to the JCHA board of directors, who will select the winner.
Family members or friends of the historical association or writers society are not eligible.

St. Nicholas church taking orders for pierogie sale
St. Nicholas Orthodox Church is taking orders for a Lenten frozen pierogie (cheese and potato) sale.
Order pick-up will be from noon to 2 p.m. on March 28 at the church, which is located at 604 Colliers Way, Weirton, across from Weirton Medical Center.

Lodge to host event
An all-you-can-eat pancake and sausage dinner will be held from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m. on March 29 at the Unionport Masonic Lodge on county Road 39, Unionport.
The dinner includes a choice of regular or buckwheat pancakes, sausage, cake, ice cream and a drink.
Cost is by donation, and carryout will be available.
At Unionport center
A pancake and sausage breakfast will be held from 7 a.m. to noon on Saturday at the Unionport Community Center (old school).
The menu will include sausage gravy and biscuits, coffee, tea, and juice. Cost is by donation. Proceeds will go toward current expenses and building repairs at the community center.
Special Harrison calendars remain available
Harrison Coal and Reclamation Historical Park 2014 calendars remain available, according to Claren Blackburn, president.
The "Tiger" calendars feature Hanna Coal's "A" shovel Marion 5561, the first of four shovels that Hanna built in the 1940s and started work at Georgetown, Ohio.
Calendars are $10 each and can be purchased at the Puskarich Public Library on Market Street or Vicki's Place on Main Street. Both are in Cadiz. They also are available by calling Dale Davis, 456 Park Ave., Cadiz, OH 43907. If ordered through the mail, there is an additional $2 charge per calendar.
