Off to college

Indian Creek senior Kristen Shimko, flanked be her parents David and Laura Shimko, will continue her academic and athletic careers at Wheeling Jesuit University. Shimko will be a member of the track and field team and, although undecided on her major, will choose between elementary education and physical therapy. Shimko throws the discus and shot put for the Redskins. Also on hand for the signing were, from left, assistant track coach and throwing coach Jim Hopkins, new head track coach Eugene Ciciarelli, Athletic Director Joe Dunlevy, former head track coach Jack Fluharty and Assistant Principal Dan Hartman.
