Lecture series at
The Worldview Scholarships lecture series will continue with "Prophecy and the Bible" and "Science and the Bible" March 8 at the Weirton Heights Memorial Baptist Church located at 121 Ivy St., Weirton.
Registration begins at 8 a.m. Refreshments will be available during registration.
The lecture will be held from 8:30 a.m. to 10:30 a.m.

at St. Paul's
St. Paul's Episcopal Church, 415 Adams St., Steubenville, will hold a Shrove Tuesday pancake supper from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. on Tuesday.
Cost is $6 for adults and $3 for children.
'The Story' at
Riverview United Methodist Church, 105 N. River Ave., Toronto, is welcoming families to a program called "The Story," a journey through the Bible that is adapted for all age groups.
"We are excited to share 'The Story' through our new children's church program, which is held at the same time as our church service," a church spokesperson said. "Both the adults and the children will working through 'The Story' at the same time to the whole family can enjoy the program."
To kick off the children's program, the church will host a "Meet the Authors" event at 11 a.m. on March 8. Children will have the opportunity to "Meet the Authors" of the Bible while participating in games and music and enjoying refreshments. It also will allow parents to register their child into the children's program, meet the teachers and learn about the program.
"The Story" will start at 11 a.m. on March 9.

Youth Sunday at
Bell Chapel UMC
Bell Chapel United Methodist Church located on state Route 213, Steubenville will observe Youth Sunday on Sunday.
It will be celebrated with a special service at 10 a.m.
Following that, Four Seasons Ministry will hold a spring open house at the Four Seasons Ministry building at 129 School St. (the former Pleasant Hill Elementary School.)
Lunch will be provided in the cafeteria.
"We will also be holding a grand opening for the coffee shop and the gift shop. Crafts can be made by children as well. This will be from 11:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m.," a church spokesperson said.
Free movie night
at First Christian
A free movie night featuring "Mercy Rule" will be held at 6 p.m. on March 8 at First Christian Church (Disciples of Christ), which is located at 220 N. Fourth St., Steubenville.
The movie will be shown on to a 15-foot-by-20-foot screen, according to a news release.
"Mercy Rule" is a baseball adventure for the whole family, starring Kirk Cameron and his wife, Chelsea, according to a church flyer. "Parents and kids alike will be inspired by the story of the Miller family as they learn life's lessons of mercy, patience, sacrifice, legacy and trusting God," it notes.

Niagara Falls trip
set for June 14
Mount Zion Baptist Church, 221 N. Seventh St., Steubenville, will be the departure site for a trip to Niagara Falls in Buffalo, N.Y., on June 14, departing from the church at 5:30 a.m.
The bus will leave Niagara Falls at 8 p.m.
The cost of the trip, which is open to the public, is $85 with a $45 deposit due on March 8 and the balance on April 18.
No passport is needed for the trip that will include a 150-outlet shopping mall visit.

The annual spring membership tea of the West Virginia Auxiliary of the Congregation of St. Joseph will be held from 2 p.m. to 4 p.m. on March 16 at Mount St. Joseph in Wheeling.
Installation of new officers will highlight the event. Members are encouraged to bring a guest. Anyone interested in becoming a member of the auxiliary is invited to attend. There is no charge for the luncheon.
A 50-50 drawing will be held, and the summer cash drawing tickets will be available.
The auxiliary raises funds to support a variety of needs of the sisters at Mount St. Joseph by holding several fundraisers, annually, including the autumn gala and reverse drawing.
Fashion show at
First United Methodist Church, West Street at Lee Avenue, Weirton, is holding a luncheon and fashion show featuring spring/summer 2014 fashions from Phyllis' Fashions of Washington, Pa., on March 23.
