GUIO, Aaron Joseph, 37, of Weirton, passed away Monday, Jan. 27, 2014.
Born Feb. 28, 1976, at the Beaufort Naval Hospital in Beaufort, SC, Aaron was the son of Gary and Cheryl Bennett Guio, of Weirton.
He was preceded in death by his maternal grandparents, Calvin and Catherine Bennett; and his paternal grandfather, William Guio.
For the last seven years, Aaron served as an accounts representative for Coventry Health Care.
He was a member of St. Nicholas Orthodox Church, where he previously served as an altar boy.
After battling Crohn's disease, Aaron became an avid mountain biker, competing in the Dirty Dozen bicycle competition held annually in Pittsburgh, PA .
In addition to his parents, Gary and Cheryl, Aaron is survived by his son, Alex Guio; his sister, Jeannine Guio and her husband, Christian Skidmore; paternal grandmother, Mary Ferguson; his uncle, Larry Guio; nieces and nephew, Milanna, Michael and Stella Truxall; his aunts, uncles, and cousins.
Visitation will be held Wednesday 4-6 p.m. at the Greco-Hertnick Funeral Home, 3219 Main Street, Weirton, WV, where funeral services will be held 10 a.m. Thursday.
Interment will be in St. Nicholas Orthodox Cemetery.
