Coats for horses

January 24, 2014
The Herald-Star
It’s been so cold that even horses were wearing coats as they enjoyed their breakfast on a farm owned by Chuck and Marsha Fluharty on state Route 151 outside of Smithfield. Josh and Crystal Fluharty operate the farm that has been in the Foster/Fluharty family for many years. The horses will need to keep the coats on as the area is under a winter weather advisory with 2 to 4 inches of snow predicted for Saturday. The cold temperatures will continue into next week with lows below zero and highs around 10. — Esther McCoy
