DOUDS, Lee Wesley, age 74, of Venice, FL, a former Toronto, OH resident, passed away Thursday, Jan. 16, 2014, at the Venice Memorial Hospital, Venice, FL.
He was born June 17, 1939, in Toronto, OH, the son of the late Homer and Mildred (Carson) Douds.
Lee was a member of the First United Methodist Church of Toronto.
He was a 1957 graduate of Toronto High School; attended Ohio University, Athens, OH; 50 year member of the Pilgrim Masonic Lodge 691 F. & A.M. of Steubenville, OH, and the American Legion Post 159, Venice, FL.
Lee was a Vietnam War veteran, having served his country in the U.S. Army and loved to fish and golf.
He had worked for the Guy Johnston Lumber Company and retired from the Titanium Metals Corporation of Toronto as area supervisor maintenance foreman.
Lee is survived by his daughter, Tracy Lee (Merril) Geiss of Columbus, OH
Visitation hours for Lee will be held 2-4 and 6-8 Tuesday, Jan. 21, at the Clarke Funeral Home, 302 Main St., Toronto, OH
Masonic services will be held 7:30 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home.
A celebration service of Lee's life will be held 11 a.m. Wednesday, Jan. 22 at the funeral home with the Reverend Kevin Rinkes officiating.
There will be full military honors for Lee by the Toronto American Legion Honor Guard following services at the funeral home Wednesday. Interment will then follow at the Island Creek Cemetery.
