WASHINGTON, Pa. - Pennsylvania State Police on Tuesday charged a McDonald, Pa., man with two counts of homicide by vehicle while driving under the influence and one count of aggravated assault by vehicle while driving under the influence.

Jordan David Jacobson, 19, 108 Terrace St., McDonald, Pa., was the driver in a one-car accident on July 27 that killed two and injured a third on Joffre-Bulger Road in Smith Township, Pa. Michael Dillon Gregg, 22, of Bulger, Pa., and Joseph Bowland, 20, of McDonald, Pa., were killed, and Benjamin Bowman, 20, of McDonald, was seriously injured, according to police.

Magisterial District Judge David Mark set Jacobson's bond at $100,000 Tuesday. He will face a preliminary hearing at 9:30 a.m. Wednesday at the Washington County Central Court, according to Washington County District Attorney Eugene Vittone.

According to reports, Jacobson was traveling west on Joffre-Bulger Road and failed to negotiate a lefthand curve near Manor Drive, causing the car to roll approximately 250 feet before coming to a rest on the south side of the roadway. Bowland and Gregg were thrown from the vehicle. Jacobson tested positive for marijuana and opiates following the accident, and a police reconstruction estimated his speed at nearly 80 miles per hour.

Jacobson also is charged with failing to stay in a traffic lane, speeding and reckless driving.
