PENCE, Paula Renee Harvilak, passed from this life on Nov. 5, 2013, following a four-year battle with cancer.
She was born on Jan. 7, 1943, in Steubenville, Ohio, and was a resident of Akron, OH.
She was a retiree from the Goodyear Tire and Rubber Corporation in Akron.
Paula was a graduate from Toronto High School '61 and had attended Kent State University following high school. She enjoyed her time at home with her Civil War collection and was an avid reader of Civil War history.
She was preceded in death by her husband, James; her mother, Veronica Theresa Solomon Harvilak in 2007; her father, Nicholas Thomas Harvilak, also a Toronto High graduate, '34, in 2002; and a sister, Nicolette Ann Harvilak Sciance, a Toronto High graduate, '58, in 1998.
She is survived by two sons, John Pence of Uniontown, OH, and Everett Pence of Streetsboro, OH; a daughter-in-law, Diane Pence, and a granddaughter, Taylor Pence, both also of Uniontown, OH; and a brother, David Alan Harvilak, a Toronto High graduate, '64, who resides in Mesquite, Nevada.
