Fifth-annual Valentine's Extravaganza
on Feb. 9 looking for vendors
Wintersville Catholic Parishes of Blessed Sacrament and Our Lady of Lourdes Churches will hold their fifth-annual St. Vincent DePaul Valentine's Extravaganza from noon to 3 p.m. on Feb. 9 at the Blessed Sacrament Social Hall, Sargus Hall, located at 852 Main St., Wintersville.
The event offers a unique opportunity for the community to support the local craftspeople as well as St. Vincent DePaul, an event spokesperson said.
"It is a perfect time to buy or sell that special gift for Valentine's Day and help support St. Vincent DePaul, feeding the poor," the spokesperson said.
Vendors interested in participating in the event can include a $25 table fee, with application and make checks payable to the St. Vincent dePaul Society, 852 Main St., Wintersville, OH 43953.

Serve Others Circle of Kings Daughters and Sons set to meet Jan. 21
At its final meeting of 2013, five members of the Serve Others Circle of Kings Daughters and Sons met Nov. 19 at the YWCA of Steubenville for a noon luncheon meeting.
Ruth Ann McLaughlin presided, and Linda Cooper gave the blessing.
Reports were given by Donna Grimm, treasurer, and Lucille Smith, secretary. JoAnn Birney, sunshine chairman, reported on the sick and on birthdays. Members exchanged Christmas cards.
The circle collected money for the YWCA staff and for the Salvation Army of Jefferson County. McLaughlin read from the Silver Cross magazine about Founders Day to be held in June.
Cooper, serving as hostess and program leader, introduced Sherry Freeman, who accompanied the circle in singing Christmas carols.
Tables were decorated with Christmas themes.
The next meeting will be held Jan. 21 with Smith serving as hostess and program leader.
Holy Trinity Philoptochos Society
to host gyro sale on Tuesday
The Holy Trinity Greek Orthodox Philoptochos Society will have its next gyro sale from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. Tuesday at the church located at 300 S. Fourth St., Steubenville.
The gyro sells for $6 each and the koulourakia (twist cookie) is $5 per dozen.
There is free delivery for order of four gyros or more. There will be a 25 cent charge for extra tzatziki sauce.
Orders can be phoned in to (740) 282-9835 or fax to (740) 282-2091. Patrons should allow a minimum of 20 minutes for phone-in and fax orders.
Walk-ins also are welcome.
Soup and sandwich sale Wednesday
at Hill Top Fellowship Hall
There will be a soup and sandwich supper at the Hill Top Fellowship Hall, located at the intersection of county Road 46 and state Route 213, on Wednesday from 4 p.m. to 6:30 p.m.
The menu will be chili and chicken noodle, broccoli, and vegetable soups; hot chicken and shredded beef sandwiches; homemade pies; and hot and cold beverages.
Patrons can dine in or get carryout.
Donations will be accepted.
