Arrest made in shots fired case
STEUBENVILLE - Alterik Rogers, 38, of 1308 Park St. was arrested on a charge of felonious assault Saturday in connection with shots being fired at an occupied vehicle, City Police reported.
Officers were called to the 1400 block of State Street after six shots were fired at a vehicle, occupied by a former neighbor of Rogers, police reported. One of the bullets penetrated the car and struck the victim in the leg but the bullet didn't break the skin, police reported.
City Police Chief William McCafferty said Rogers and the victim, who was a former Park Street neighbor, had a disagreement that had been going on for more than a year.
McCafferty said Rogers was arrested based on statements of witnesses and the victim.
Rogers was being held on a $500,000 bond at the county jail, and is to appear today in municipal court.
