HARDEN, Eileen Thomas Kakascik, 90, of East Liverpool, OH, formerly of the Scio and Steubenville areas, passed away Sunday Dec. 1, 2013, in East Liverpool City Hospital.
Eileen was born May 19, 1923, in Steubenville, OH, daughter of the late Howard Edison and Alma Z. Merryman Thomas.
She was a former hostess in several taverns and restaurants in the Steubenville area, was Protestant by faith and she loved animals.
In addition to her parents, Eileen was preceded in death by her late husband, Roy Harden; her infant daughter, Nancy; two sons, Lou and Chuck Kakascik; her great-granddaughter, Initia Hancock; her first husband, Ambrose Kakascik; her brother, Charles Lavonne Thomas; and daughter-in-law, Jolene Kakascik.
Surviving are her two sons, Bill (Janet) Kakascik of Toronto, OH, Bob (Sharol) Kakascik of Canton, OH; daughter-in-law, Lola Kakascik of Toronto, OH; sister-in-law, Mamie Thomas of Columbus, OH; nine grandchildren, Michelle Hancock, Albert (Mollie) Kakascik, Kacy (Nathan) Stevens, Dani (Bill) Kakascik Carroll, Kevin (Callie) Kakascik, Kim Kakascik, Dina (Ron) Jones, Robin (Dennis) Lowery and Cindy (Cory) Huntsman; also 19 great-grandchildren.
Eileen's request was to be cremated, there will be no visitation. A memorial service will be held at the convenience of her family. The arrangements for Eileen are in the care of the J.E. Foster Funeral Home in Toronto, OH.
