The Martin Luther King Jr. Association, Franciscan University of Steubenville and Eastern Gateway Community College teamed up to sponsor "Doo Wop for Scholarships" featuring the Marcels.
The musical fundraiser held earlier this month at St. Florian Hall brought together members from organizations such as the Italian American Cultural Club, Nimble Thimble, the Upper Ohio Valley Opera Guild and the MLK Association.
The photos at left are contributed candids from the event where welcoming the guests were James Baber, president of the MLK Association; Laura Meeks, president of Eastern Gateway Community College; the Rev. Nathan Malavolti, vice president for community relations at Franciscan University; and Sharon Kirtdoll from the MLK Association.
