Fire in Steubenville destroys bedroom
STEUBENVILLE - City fire crews responded to a fire at 1412 Oak Grove Ave. at 5:50 p.m. Wednesday, according to reports.
The fire reportedly began in one of the bedrooms and was contained there. Firefighters spent about two hours on the scene, with light smoke damage to the room, according to reports. No injuries were reported, and the cause of the fire is under investigation, according to the city fire officials.
Fire in Wintersville destroys house
WINTERSVILLE -A residential fire at 475 Two Ridge Road Wednesday morning resulted in the destruction of the residence and one village firefighter being transported to the hospital.
According to Wintersville Fire and Rescue, crews arrived at 8 a.m. Wednesday to find a chimney fire that spread into the walls of the house. Firefighters spent about five hours containing the blaze, and one firefighter was injured. He was transported to Trinity Medical Center West and then treated and released, according to reports.
Other responders included the Belvedere and Richmond volunteer fire departments and the Steubenville Fire Department. No other injuries were reported, and the fire remains under investigation.
Boil order issued on Marland Heights
WEIRTON - Residents in the area of Barone Drive in Weirton are under a boil order following a water line break Wednesday afternoon.
The boil order affects those in the 1100 blocks of Barone Drive and Courtland Road.
The line break occurred in the 1100 block of Barone Drive, according to information provided by the Weirton Area Water Board. A boil order of at least 24 hours will be enacted while water is tested for possible contamination.
Those affected by the line break are advised to boil their water, or use bottled water, for drinking, making ice, brushing teeth, washing dishes, bathing and food preparation until further notice.
