The Herald-Star
Steubenville Catholic Central’s Micca Mirabella, flanked by her parents, James and Sheila, and sister, Shayna, will continue her academic and athletic careers at West Virginia State University, where she will be a member of the softball team and is currently undecided on her major. The Yellow Jackets are 91-27 during the past two seasons. Mirabella is a three-year letterwinner in softball, basketball and soccer and lettered one year in volleyball. She has been the Crusaders’ leadoff hitter for all three years. She is a career .417 hitter and has not hit below .408 in her high school career. Mirabella has 119 hits, 107 runs scored and 92 stolen bases. Catholic Central is 65-16 in her three years and has been to three districts and two regionals. The Crusaders won the Ohio Valley Athletic Conference title last season and have won three straight OVAC Class 2A regular season titles. Mirabella has also been a member of the Road Runners Fastpitch travel softball organization for four years. Also on hand for the signing were, from left, Road Runners head coach Rick Sherman, Catholic Central head softball coach Jim DiCarlo, head basketball and assistant softball coach Tom Winland, assistant softball coach Bill Davis and Principal Rich Wilinski.
