Mingo Presbyterian Church
There will more decisions than the voting choices at the poll on Election Day, as one voting site also will host a soup and hoagie sale.
Area citizens will have "that tasty option" from 10 a.m. to5 p.m. Tuesday at Mingo First United Presbyterian Church.
Getting ready for the sale at Mingo Presbyterian are Holly Bezak, left, and Ina Chidester
"It's been a real convenience to many who have made it a tradition to vote at the polling place and pick up lunch or dinner while they're here," said Ellen Lash, a deacon at the church. "And we've been doing this for quite a few years, and we have the recipe just right."
In addition to traditional soup offerings of vegetable beef, chicken noodle and broccoli cheese for $4 per quart, local favorite haluski will be offered as well at $5 per quart.
"Hoagies also are available in meatball, Italian and roast beef at the $5 price," added Holly Bezak, also a deacon.
"We also have a dine-in special," Lash said. "You get a bowl of soup, one-half hoagie and a beverage for $4.50."
The church is located at 650 McLister Ave., Mingo Junction. To place an order, call (740) 535-0309.
