The ninth-annual Judy Maple Memorial Golf Classic was held July 27 at Spring Hills Golf Club in East Springfield, with more than 150 golfers, volunteers and friends on hand. The recipient of proceeds from this year’s outing was Charity Hospice of Wintersville. The foundation donated $10,000 from this year’s proceeds to the facility for computer and equipment upgrades, according to officials. The golf outing is sponsored by the Judy Maple Foundation, established in 2005 in memory of the late Judy Maple of Toronto, by her six children. Since its inception, the foundation’s other major recipients have included the Make-A-Wish Foundation, Valley Hospice, the Jefferson County Fourth Street Health Center and the Tony Teramana Cancer Center. To date, the foundation has donated more than $100,000 locally, including contributions to charitable organizations, funding an annual scholarship at Edison High School, supporting local charities such as the Urban Mission Ministries and the City Rescue Mission during the holidays and giving to families in need. On hand for the presentation were, from left, Kevin Maple; Tiffany Hartzell, professional relations coordinator for Charity Hospice; Dave Maple Jr.; Jennifer (Maple) Bash; Cathy Cich, chief innovation officer and founder of Charity Hospice; Cindy Maple; Steve Maple; Dave Maple Sr.; and Criss Maple. — Contributed
