MINGO JUNCTION - The Indian Creek boys soccer team opened the season Tuesday with a 7-2 victory over visiting Edison at Muth Field.
Max Lewis led the Redskins' offensive output with three goals and an assist. Russell Ratcliffe added a pair of goals and an assist.
Kyle Probert and Jordan Herald each added a goal. Cole Recinella totaled two assists and Brendan Cole one.
Zack Barker had four saves.
Zac Sansone and Travis Bell scored for the Wildcats with Armando Sinicropi getting an assist.
Josh Wioka finished with nine saves.
Huskies win tri-match
CADIZ - Austin Kowalski garnered medalist honors with a 43 Tuesday at Cadiz Country Club as the Harrison Central golf team shot 177 to beat Steubenville (206) and John Marshall (220).
Bryce Walrath carded a 44 and Evan Ossman and Ian Saho each shot 45 for the Huskies.
Kasey Peterson led Big Red with his 47. Josh Gault shot 51, Isaiah Henry 53 and Jonah Moro 55.
Colin Griffith's 49 was best for the Monarchs. Jacob Myers shot 55 and Austin Blake and Kailey Pettit each had 58
Bruins down Golden Bears
CHESTER - Logan Lojszczyk fired a 2-under 34 to be the medalist Tuesday at Mountaineer Woodview Golf Course as Brooke defeated Oak Glen, 162-209.
Michael Petrosky shot 42 and Trey Gilham and Mario Boni each had 43 for the Bruins.
Haley Spurlock paced the Golden Bears with a 47. Mike Watkins shot 50, Trey Reese 51 and Matt Stipec 61.
Redskins earn a victory
WEIRTON - Cody Hopskins carded a 43 Tuesday at Williams Country Club to capture medalist honors as the Indian Creek golf team shot 181 to beat Toronto (212) and host Weir High.
Chris Riffe, Justin Dailey and Aaron Foldi each shot 46 for the Redskins.
Will Newbold paced the Red Knights with his 49. Ben Hlivko shot 51 and Sante Carducci and Parker Wright each had a 56.
Tyler Warrick's 52 led the Red Riders. Austin Paul-Orecchio shot 55 and Joe Patterson 64.
Wildcats down Panthers
RAYLAND - Ben Boyd shot 44 to be the medalist Tuesday at BecWood Golf Course as the Edison golf team beat Buckeye Local, 199-220.
Jommy Marsh shot 45, Clay Woodward 53 and Shane Pendleton 57 for the Wildcats.
Eric Williams led the Panthers with his 49. Brennan Czuchran shot 50, Dan Duill 59 and Austin Antill 62.
