STEUBENVILLE - The Fort Steuben Mall will host back-to-school events, including the Return of the Pigskin Preview from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. Saturday at center court. This event is sponsored by WCDK-FM.
Local high schools will sell their spirit gear and participate in a booth-decorating contest. The best decorated booth will win $500 and the runner-up will win $250.
Also on Saturday, Mary Antoinette Gallo Sunyoger from Franciscan University of Steubenville will greet guests and sign copies of her book, "Life Lessons: A Connection of Souls Throughout Life's Journey," from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m.
There's also "A Change for Josh" benefit from 10 a.m. to 9 p.m. Saturday. Josh Boyd was 16 years old when he was involved in an accident during a motocross competition in June. He was to begin his senior year at Weir High School.
There will be free fingerprinting and ID kits for kids courtesy of the Jefferson County Sheriff's Department, tie-die finger nail art and a drawing featuring a new Nook HD tablet and a Mossberg camo/combo 12 GA Model 500 gun.
The day also will include Macy's Shop for a Cause from 10 a.m. to 9 p.m. Shoppers can purchase a savings pass from any Macy's associate for $5 and receive a shopping pass good for 25 percent off all day long on regular, sale and clearance items, including home items. Participants also will receive 10 percent off on electric/electronics, watches, furniture, mattresses and rugs/floor coverings.
The annual back-to-school fashion show is set for noon Saturday at center court. The show is sponsored by WOGH-FM and the mall. During the show, the audience can register to win prizes. Winners will be drawn during the show and must be present, organizers said.
Mall officials said shoppers with Fort Steuben Mall receipts totaling $150 from at least three mall stores can receive a free $10 mall gift card while supplies last through Aug. 31.
