TILTONSVILLE - Roads and a debris problem gained attention last week during the Warren Township trustees' meeting.
Trustee Danny Meeker reported Shelly and Sands Inc. has completed chipping and sealing of Oak Grove, Jones and Mount Pleasant roads, as well as alleys in Upland Heights.
He also said patching has been done on Luca Lane.
The safety mirror on Adams Lane is broken and needs to be replaced, according to Trustee Frank Litva. It had been installed there some time ago so drivers could see on the turn.
Meeker said calls have been received about debris from an illegal dump washing down to Dallas Road as a result of the last heavy rain. He notified the Jefferson County Health Department, which agreed to view the dump site on Mount Pleasant hill.
Also, complaints about garbage left on the back porch of a vacant house in Connorville have been received and reported to the health department.
Meeker said he'd talked to Cliff Myers of the JB Green Team, and the organization is in the process of beginning a project to hire a litter control officer and to purchase a vehicle for the officer.
Reporting on an Ohio trustees' association meeting, Litva said the major discussion was about checking on sales tax.
He also was at the June meeting of the Jefferson County Regional Planning Commission. He noted that at the commission's Sept. 25 session all agencies are to announce their safety plans regarding well drilling.
In another matter, Litva recommended a notebook be left in the township building concerning where the township crew is working in case the crew is needed.
The trustees' next regular meeting will be at 7 p.m. on Aug. 14.
