Prisoner walks away from work detail
STEUBENVILLE - Area law enforcement officers are looking for a prisoner from the Jefferson County jail who walked away from a work detail at the county fairgrounds at Friendship Park on Tuesday.
Benjamin M. Delguzzi, 27, of Steubenville was serving a 180-day sentence out of Steubenville Municipal Court for assault. Delguzzi was involved in a domestic incident in May in the city. A county sheriff's deputy working in the hilltop areas answered the call and got into a physical altercation with Delguzzi.
Delguzzi initially was charged with assault on a police officer, a felony, but it was reduced to assault in municipal court.
Delguzzi was using a weed trimmer at the fairgrounds Tuesday afternoon. A deputy monitoring the work crew noticed Delguzzi missing. The weed trimmer was found on the ground near a trail the deputy believes Delguzzi used in his escape.
Several police agencies searched the surrounding area Tuesday but Delguzzi wasn't found.

Harris was under investigation by the county drug task force and had made controlled sales of heroin at the end of November and early December. A raid was conducted on Harris' residence on Dec. 11 and drugs and $969 were confiscated. Henderson ordered the $969 forfeited to the drug task force.
Harris will have to successfully complete a drug treatment program and remain drug free for a year. If he is successful, the charges will be dismissed. If not, he faces up to 12 months in prison.
