After the storm

July 12, 2013
The Herald-Star
Union Cemetery employee Steve Welch used a chain saw Thursday to cut up a yellow poplar tree limb that fell during a severe thunderstorm that swept across the Ohio Valley Wednesday night. Residents throughout the area were cleaning up storm debris Thursday and in some cases waiting for their electric power to be restored. American Electric Power reported this morning 924 customers remained without power. An AEP press release said Steubenville area customers should have power restored by 9 p.m. Saturday. And according to MonPower officials, approximately five customers remained without power in Hancock County.
