First Baptist Church
to host musical drama
The First Baptist Church of Steubenville located at 334 Cedar Ave., Steubenville, will host a musical drama entitled "Prayer for the Prodigal" presented by Michael James Facciani on July 20 at 7 p.m.
It will be held outdoors, weather permitting; indoors, if not.
Admission is free.
Facciani is billed as "the Rocky Balboa of Christian singers."
A promotional flyer notes the drama is "a passionate and dramatic vocal portrayal of Chase's story. Your compassion will be stored and your faith challenged to its very core. Experience God's love and grace, perhaps, as you never have before."

Peach Social Aug. 9 at Dillonvale Presbyterian
The Dillonvale Presbyterian Church will hold its 63rd-annual Peach Social at the Dillonvale Fire Hall on Aug. 9 from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m.
Tickets are $5 for adults and $3 for children, which includes includes cake, ice cream, peaches and a drink. Take-out will be available.
Music will be provided by Roger Warren and Friends.

Ministry organizing bash for back to school
Cup of Life Ministries is sponsoring a "Back-to-School Bash" on July 26 at the Follansbee Activities Center with a picnic beginning at 6 p.m.
Following that will be the distribution of school supplies, then ending with swimming from 7 p.m. to 9 p.m. with all ages welcome.

Adults being sought for
softball tourney benefit
The Follansbee Softball League seeks players for an adult co-ed softball tournament July 27 to benefit the Barretts, an Oklahoma family who lost their home in the recent tornado.
A cash prize will be awarded based on the number of teams that sign up. The entry fee is $100.

Catholic Identity Project to present conference
The Catholic Identity Project will present its 2013 conference, "Life, Liturgy and Libertas: The Keys to Catholic Restoration" Sept. 20-22 at the Serbian-American Cultural Center located at 1000 Colliers Way, Weirton.
Michael Voris, Michael J. Matt, Dr. John Rao, John Vennari, James Vogel, Christopher Ferrara and John-Henry Westen will be speakers. The event will include seminars, lectures and daily Latin Masses.
Christopher Schulte of the Knights of Columbus will give the dinner presentation Sept. 21, followed by Chaplain the Rev. Gregory Pendergraft.

group meetings set
The Alzheimer's Association will be holding its caregiver support group meetings on the following dates:
-- July 18 at 6 p.m. at Eastern Gateway Community College, 4000 Sunset Blvd., Room 1500, Steubenville.
-- July 23 at 1 p.m. at First Presbyterian Church, 400 Walnut St., Martins Ferry.
The meetings are free and open to all caregivers, family members and friends with a loved one living with Alzheimer's disease or a related dementia.

Follansbee City Building hours are expanded
The Follansbee City Building is now open an hour earlier, at 8 a.m., Monday through Friday.
Calls to the building through (304) 527-1330 will be answered at that time also. City Manager John DeStefano said the change was made in an effort to better assist residents.
