KARPINSKI, Leo Joseph 85, of Steubenville, died Wed-nesday, June 26, 2013, at Trinity West Hospital.
He was born August 9, 1927, in Steubenville, Ohio, son of the late Walter and Ida Kozlowski Karpinski.
A 1945 graduate of Steubenville Catholic Central High School, Leo was a WWII Navy veteran. He worked many years for D&R Radio Supply and retired from the Ohio Power Company (AEP) in 1991. Since his retirement he enjoyed gardening and puttering around the yard of the house he built for his family in 1955.
He is also preceded in death by his sister, Theresa Visyak and his oldest son, Michael.
He is survived by his loving wife of 61 years, Theresa Yoka Karpinski, daughters, Chris (Bill) Dardis of Dayton, Mary Lee (Jeff) Aleksiejczyk of Pittsburgh, Lisa (Guy) Behanna of Pittsburgh; sons Joe (Kathy) Karpinski of Kent, John (Andrea) Karpinski of Massillon, and Dave (Joanna) Karpinski of Hudson, daughter-in-law, Terry Karpinski of Mt. Vernon; grandchildren, Joey (Amanda), Tod (Kristy), Annie (Justin), Craig, Patrick (Katy), Nina, Laura (Richard), Lizzie, Sara, Kara, Katie, Andrew, Michael, and Rachel; great grandchildren, Chase, Lacey, Reece, and Hali and his sister Jenny Zaslocki.
Visitation will be Saturday at Holy Rosary Catholic Church, 11 a.m. until a Funeral Liturgy with Mass at noon. Burial will be at Mt. Calvary Cemetery.
